CONTRAINDICATIONS
Kambo treatment is a powerful healing modality, but it's not suitable for everyone. Certain medical conditions and medications may pose risks or interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment. It's crucial for both practitioners and clients to be aware of these contraindications to ensure safe and effective outcomes. Here is a comprehensive list of contraindications for Kambo treatment:

Medical Conditions:

1. Aneurysm
2. Active ulcers
3. Alcohol dependence
4. Addison’s Disease
5. Brain injuries
6. Blood clots
7. Chemotherapy or chemo drugs (within 6 weeks)
8. Drug dependency (opioids and benzos)
9. Diarrhoea lasting several days (due to electrolyte imbalance)
10. Gastric sleeve or band surgery
11. Heart issues (any)
12. Organ transplant
13. PTSD (treatment by advanced practitioners only)
14. Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, psychosis, personality disorders
15. Previous psychiatric history (must be declared)
16. Medicated low blood pressure
17. Recent surgeries (minimum 8 weeks post)
18. Stroke
19. Pregnancy
20. Breastfeeding (under 6 months)
21. Within 21 days of giving birth
22. Under 18 years of age
23. Asthma (severity-dependent, must bring inhaler)
24. Diabetics (must bring insulin, testing strips, and food)
25. Recent use of Bufo (8 weeks prior)
26. COVID vaccination (minimum 6 weeks post)

MEDICATIONS
1. Antipsychotics
2. Antiepileptics
3. Antidiuretics (suitable for Kambo 5 days after cessation)
4. Diuretics
5. Antibiotics (best taken alone without Kambo)
6. Benzodiazepines (full withdrawal for minimum 4 weeks prior)
7. Alcohol or recreational drugs (abstain for at least 48 hours prior)
8. Any drug or alcohol dependency must be declared in the health form
9. Most medications (such as Anti-depressants and contraceptive pill) can be avoided
on the morning of the treatment and then taken immediately after the treatment.
10. Weight-loss drugs i.e Ozempic must be refrained for 2 weeks prior to a treatment.
Pre-Treatment Guidelines:

• No food consumption for a minimum of 8 hours pre-treatment
• Limit water intake to a small glass or two on the day of treatment
• No alcohol or recreational drug use for at least 48 hours prior to treatment
• No fasting, juice, dry or water fasting for a minimum of 48 hours prior to Kambo
• A substantial meal must be eaten the day prior to Kambo
• No Sauna’s, sweatlodges or excessive exercise are permitted 24 hours prior to receiving Kambo
